Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to assist with general maintenance and repair tasks across Capitec facilities. The successful candidate will also provide support as a relief driver or messenger and assist with admission control duties when required.


Key Responsibilities

The Handyman will be responsible for:

  • Performing general building maintenance and minor repair work

  • Assisting with construction-related and handyman tasks

  • Supporting relief driving and messenger duties

  • Assisting with admission control responsibilities

  • Ensuring work is carried out in line with safety standards and quality requirements


Experience Requirements

Minimum Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in general construction or the handyman trade

Ideal Experience

  • Basic knowledge of electrical work

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing

  • Experience handling and operating power tools

  • Basic understanding of the Health and Safety Act


Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • Grade 10 National Certificate

Preferred Qualification

  • Relevant technical or maintenance-related exposure will be advantageous


Knowledge Requirements

Applicants should have basic knowledge of:

  • Quality principles and standard practices

  • Health and safety regulatory requirements

  • Client interaction with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Basic computer usage
