About the Role

The Wealth Manager role is designed for individuals who can serve as full financial services advisors, providing tailored guidance across savings, investments, and estate planning. The position requires a strong understanding of investment products and the ability to align financial strategies with each client’s long-term goals.

The role is based in Bellville and is offered on a full-time basis.


Key Responsibilities

As a Wealth Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Formulating financial proposals covering cash management, risk planning, investments, and estate planning

  • Advising clients on approved investment and risk products to help achieve financial objectives

  • Identifying new advisory opportunities to meet predetermined sales and production targets

  • Reviewing and updating financial plans in response to life changes, market conditions, and performance outcomes

  • Monitoring investment opportunities and assessing suitability against client profiles

  • Providing regular service delivery reports aligned with agreed service level agreements

  • Ensuring consistent, high-quality advice aligned with FNB’s investment philosophy and approved product framework

  • Maintaining strong client relationships through education, communication, and ongoing advisory support

  • Supporting the resolution of client queries to ensure satisfaction and retention

  • Collaborating across teams and contributing to cross-functional initiatives


Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management

This role operates within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory, legislative, and governance requirements

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices

  • Follow FNB’s internal compliance systems and procedures

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of governance and compliance processes

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate potential risks within the advisory process

  • Protect and ensure optimal use of business assets


Candidate Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

You will be an ideal candidate if you have:

  • A relevant degree in Investment, Economics, Finance, or a related field

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification (preferred)

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Wealth Manager or Financial Advisor

  • Proven sales and advisory experience with high-income clients


FAIS Experience (Advantage)

Preference will be given to candidates with FAIS experience across the following categories:

Category 1

  • Long-Term Insurance (Subcategories B1, B1-A, B2, B2-A, C)

  • Retail Pension Benefits

  • Shares, Bonds, and Money Market Instruments

  • Collective Investment Schemes

  • Forex Investments

  • Long- and Short-Term Deposits

  • Structured Deposits

  • Participatory interests in hedge funds

Category 2 (Advantage)

  • Retail Pension Benefits

  • Shares, Bonds, and Money Market Instruments

  • Collective Investment Schemes

  • Forex Investments

  • Deposits and Structured Products

  • Participatory interests in hedge funds


Additional Requirements

  • In line with the National Credit Act (NCA), a credit record check will be conducted

  • Strong ethical standards and financial integrity are essential
