Programme Overview
The Transnet Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme is a 12-month structured learnership designed to provide students and recent graduates with valuable workplace experience. The programme helps participants apply their academic knowledge in real-world environments while enhancing employability through practical training, mentorship, and industry exposure.
This is an excellent opportunity for young South Africans looking to kickstart their careers in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Information Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Task Execution
Support projects and departmental work-streams under supervision
Perform routine operational and administrative tasks
Assist with documentation, reporting, and record-keeping
Learning & Development
Participate in workshops, mentorship programmes, and training sessions
Shadow professionals to gain industry-specific experience
Take part in problem-solving and analytical exercises
Communication & Collaboration
Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to support operations
Provide updates on project tasks and deliverables
Act as a contact point for queries and assistance
Research & Analysis
Conduct market research, collect data, and prepare reports
Assist in developing presentations and business insights using MS Office tools
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to company policies and ethical standards
Comply with workplace health and safety regulations
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all tasks
Minimum Requirements
Matric Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
Completed all theoretical subjects in a National Diploma (University of Technology) in:
Information Technology
Business Administration
Supply Chain Management
South African citizenship
Age: 18–35 years
No existing bursary obligations with another company
Must provide: Certified Matric certificate, academic record, and copy of ID
