APPLY FOR THE NSFAS BURSARY 2024 NOW!!!!!
NSFAS Applications for 2024 will Commerce soon. In the recent announcement, The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) stated that the application window for the 2024 academic year will be open on November 21, 2023. In this blog post we specified how the scheme works, applications deadline and how you can apply for the bursary program and get Accepted.
You are encouraged to apply early if you will need the help of NSFAS in your studies for the coming year as the applications will close on the 31st January 2024.
NSFAS is a government entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training established to provide financial support to disadvantaged students who wish to further their studies at public universities or TVET colleges.

Eligibility to qualify for NSFAS funding:
- All South African citizens
- All SASSA grant recipients qualifies for funding
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
- Person with disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
Who should not apply according to NSFAS?
- Students who have completed a previous qualification.
- Students with a combined household income of more than R350 000 per annum.
- Students who have already applied, qualified and received funding. They are automatically funded for the duration of their studies provided they pass their modules and meet the academic requirements.

How to apply for NSFAS for the 2024 period:
Register or Log onto your myNSFAS account to start the new application. Track your application status if already you have applied previously. Alternatively check your application status via WhatsApp on this number: +27 78 519 8006 or via this USSD code: *120*67327#
Applicants are required to attach certain documents to support their online applications. These documents include:
- Certified copies of identification document or birth certificates.
- Household income proof or affidavit (if applicable).
- Academic transcripts or matric results.
- Any additional documents requested by NSFAS.
Make sure you apply early and have all the required documents ready before you can submit the application.
