Social grants are managed by the South African Social Insurance Agency (SASSA), which cares for the 18 million people in South Africa who have received various types of social assistance from SASSA.
SASSA is required under the South African Social Insurance Agency Act 2004 to Providing comprehensive social security benefits in the event of vulnerability and poverty within the framework of the constitutional order”.
Under the SASSA March 2023 Social Grant Program, seniors may begin receiving disability benefits beginning Thursday, March 2, 2023, and disability benefits will begin Friday, March 3, 2023.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a South African citizen, permanent resident or refugee Must live in South Africa You cannot draw other social benefits yourself.
They must not be endorsed by any public body You cannot earn more than R86,280 if you are single or R172,560 if you are married.
They must not have property worth more than R1,227,600 if single or R2,455,200 if married.
ADVENTURES COVID-19 SOCIAL HELP This is a stipend paying R350 per month. It is temporary and was extended until March 2023.
If your application is successful, your payment will be deferred to the month you applied for the grant.
