Sassa Grant Payment Dates For June 2023
Some applicants who applied for the Special Covid-19 SRD grant in April 2022 have not received their payments. Here is what Sassa had to say.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) announced that those who applied for the Special Covid-19 SRD grant in April 2023 will be paid from mid-June.
Before collecting their payments, applicants need to ensure that they have been approved for funding. Application statuses may be checked on the SRD website.
How To Track My SRD Application?
- Click here to visit the SRD website.
- Fill in your ID number and cellphone number used in the application.
- Select “Submit”.
Applicants may collect their payments from the following retail stores:
- Checkers
- Usave
- Shoprite
- Pick ‘n Pay
- Boxer.
When collecting their payments, beneficiaries will need to have their Identity Document (ID) with them as well as the grant confirmation SMS sent by Sassa, which states that their funds are ready for withdrawal.
Applicants may also choose to have their grant payments deposited into their personal bank account which may be more convenient than receiving it via retail stores.
Payment Dates For June 2023
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) distributes several social support grants to people living in the country. These grants include the Older Persons grant, Disability Grant and the children support grants.
These grants are distributed on the second day of every new month. They used to be paid from the third day, however, Sassa decided to pay grants earlier in the month after continuous calls from the public.

Older Persons Grant – Thursday 2 June 2023
Disability Grant – Friday 3 June 2023
Children’s Grants – Monday 6 June 2023
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R350 grant is no longer paid at the Post Office. This means that the grant does not have a fixed payment date on which grant recipients can collect their money. clients can collect thei R350 grants from Pick n Pay, Boxer, Shoprite, Checkers and USave stores. The grant can also be paid directly into your bank account.
Sassa has assured people that they will not be charged any fees for collecting grants at supermarkets
