The wait is over! SASSA has officially opened applications for the R350 grant and you can start applying.
The reinstatement of the grant was first announced by the President in July, and details of the application process were recently revealed by the Minister of Social Development, Lindiwe Zulu.
All applicants who previously applied for the R350 grant will have to reapply for the new cycle of the grant.
“There will be no automatic reinstatement of the grant for anyone. You can confirm your details on the https://srd.sassa.gov.za website or through Whatsapp on 082 046 8553″ SASSA explained.
What are the requirements for the R350 grant?
- South African citizens/permanent residents/refugees/asylum seekers/holders of special permits
- Unemployed
- Have no alternative source of income or financial support from any other source
- Between the ages of 18 and 60
The new cycle of the grant also allows Caregivers who are not receiving any grant on their own behalf to be eligible.
Where can I apply for the R350 grant?
Applicants will need to use one of the following platforms to apply.

SASSA has urged all applicants to only apply on one platform and to only apply once. Once applications have been received, the first round of payments for successful applicants will be made in the last week of August.
