Introduction

AVBOB, Africa’s largest mutual assurance society providing a one-stop funeral insurance and burial solution, has a vacancy for a General Worker at their Wynberg Life Office in Cape Town. The incumbent will report to the District Manager and will be responsible to clean and keep the neatness of the AVBOB office to a high standard.

Specification

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Perform cleaning tasks and ensure high hygienic standards in the office
• You must clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc)
• Always perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• You must always carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• You must notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Also, make adjustments and minor repairs
• Always stock and maintain supply rooms
• You must cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Make sure you follow all health and safety regulations

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

• Minimum Grade 10
• You must have a proven working experience as a Cleaner
• You should have the ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• You need to have basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Get to familiarize yourself with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Must have integrity
• Having a high school degree is recommended

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

• 1 year’s cleaning experience will be a definite advantage

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

• Have the ability to communicate in English will be a definite advantage
• Good interpersonal skills
