Job DescriptionCoca-Cola Beverages South Africa has exciting Talent Pool opportunities for the position of Distribution Manager. The role of a Distribution Manager is to manage the plant distribution, warehousing and transport function so that customer service levels can be optimized and that benchmarked productivity standards are met.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesTargets achievement
• Depot distribution plan interpreted and implemented • Goals mapped for monthly targets
• Targets (goals and KPI’s) visibly displayed and communicated to all team members Fleet availability management
• Delivery fleet size, age and mix calculated and verified
• Impact of fleet utilisation on routing, scheduling processes, systems and functions monitored
• Fleet audit recommendations on non-conformances implemented Resources and budget management
• Key resource requirements planned precisely, availability established and suitability evaluated
• Headcounts and overtime carefully controlled
• Expenditure strictly managed against budget and forecast
• Site crisis management report continuously adhered to Information systems leverage
• System integrity maintained through accurate and updated information
• Accurate completion of daily control reports monitored
• SAP reports analysed and interpreted daily
• Information used to inform responsive management decisions Safety, housekeeping and legislation entrenchment
• Applicable legislation applied
• Safety policies, procedures and company standards implemented and monitored
• 5-S housekeeping and safety standards proactively promoted
• Reporting on incidents and accidents completed against set standards Service levels to internal and external customers management
• Information, and information management systems, used to monitor and maintain customer service standards
• Challenges proactively determined
• Innovative and practical mechanisms implemented to improve customer service
• Business knowledge and commercially-based decision-making applied People management
• Regular team meetings held
• Clear direction provided to individuals and the team to achieve KPI’s
• Innovative problem-solving processes adopted
• Ownership and responsibility encouraged and supported
• On-the-job training, coaching and support given to team members
• Employee relations maintained according to Company and Legislative requirements
• Change led by involving and engaging with team and all relevant stakeholders Projects management
• Strategic distribution projects managed from joint scoping to close-out
• Project content and progress clearly communicated to stakeholders
• Ideas and suggestions from project group considered
• Projects completed in allocated time
• Support promptly sought where applicable to overcome challenges
• Quality standards adhered to throughout project completion
Skills, Experience & EducationQualification:
• Relevant BComm or Bachelors degree
• Membership of professional supply chain or procurement bodies would be advantageous Experience
• At least 5 years supply chain or purchasing experience in and FMCG environment
